In the continuous effort to leverage AI for better prediction, rapid response, and effective recovery in the face of crises and natural hazards, as promoted in the Apply AI Strategy
The Telecommunications Standardization Bureau (TSB) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is organising a workshop on “Resilience to Natural Hazards through AI Solutions”.
The workshop is prepared in collaboration with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) and will take place on 11 December 2025 at SQUARE Brussels Meeting Centre.
The workshop will be an occasion to examine how AI can be effectively leveraged for disaster management, providing expert guidance and support for research, innovation, and facilitating the development of standards. It builds on the activities of the ITU/WMO/UNEP Focus Group on AI for Natural Disaster Management (FG-AI4NDM).
In fact, the workshop will be held in back-to-back with the 3rd Meeting of the Global Initiative on Resilience to Natural Hazards through AI Solutions, scheduled for 12 December 2025 at the same venue.
