The “Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière” (MOT) will host the second edition of the Borders Forum, on June 21 and 22, 2022 at the Cité Internationale Universitaire in Paris. The event will also be broadcasted online.  It is co-organised by the European Commission, DG Regional and Urban Policy and the Committee of the Regions.

Organised in the context of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Borders Forum will beputting the spotlight on cross-border areas, which concern 40% of Europe and more than 2 million workers. Bringing together local, national, and European actors of cross-border cooperation, this event will highlight the place, the role, and the resilience of cross-border territories in Europe.

The Recovery plan, the new Interreg programmes, the revision of the Schengen Border Code, the Franco-Italian Treaty of Quirinal, and the French 3DS law are all recent examples of the importance of border regions in the European and French political agendas.
