Papers /Studies /policy papers on AI (ethics and more)

I am creating this thread so we can create a collection of AI related studies/policyppapers from stakeholders around the world, dealing with ethics, regulatory or legal framework and more.

To begin, I urge you to download and read the recommendations of the OECD on Artificial Intelligence. Follow this link https://legalinstruments.oecd.org/en/instruments/OECD-LEGAL-0449

Dear Constantinos,

together with applied AI initiative we are working on a publication on different approaches to etchical AI. Until then I can only share the first draft with you (NOT READY FOR PUBLICATION).

[[{"fid":"11402","view_mode":"default","fields":{"format":"default"},"link_text":"ethik_im_zeitalter_der_kunstlichen_intelligenz_v05_haarich.pdf","type":"media","field_deltas":{"2":{"format":"default"}},"attributes":{"class":"media-element file-default","data-delta":"2"}}]]

This draft contains a. o. more than 100 references/links about approaches to ethical AI by:

  • the EU, european states, the US, and China
  • the "Big Five" tech companies
  • well-known non-governmental initiatives

This draft was written 18 JAN 2019 in German but I hope it can save you some research time.

All the best,

Max

Dear Constantinos,
good idea to try to collect these. I'd like to add a Europeean Parliament Science Technology Options Assessment Report we did on "A Governance Framework for Algorithmic Accountability and Transparency"

http://www.europarl.europa.eu/stoa/en/document/EPRS_STU(2019)624262

Also worth keeping an eye on are the activities IEEE is doing as part of its Global Initiative for Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent System

https://standards.ieee.org/industry-connections/ec/autonomous-systems.h…

This includes a reference document on Ethically Aligned Design, a series of ethics focused Stanards (the P70xx series) and work on developing an Ethics Certification Program for Autonomous and Intelligent Systems (ECPAIS)

https://standards.ieee.org/industry-connections/ecpais.html

Cheers,
Ansgar

I'm fully supporting your idea. I think it is important to have a corpus of literature related with the use of AI in public sector.

How do you plan to do it? In my opinion it is important not only have the links or the pdf but also the comments about the contribution of each document.

Here some contributions:
