Leveraging funding for climate adaptation: innovative funding options for climate adaptation projects (Event organised by MIP4Adapt)

This online event will give participants the opportunity to explore innovating funding mechanism that can help bridge the gap in financing climate adaptation. The webinar will present insights into novel business models, green bonds, crowdfunding, and other financial instruments, alongside real-world case studies from European local and regional authorities that have successfully mobilized resources for adaptation projects. Additionally, a dedicated session will highlight the opportunities for financing adaptation within mitigation projects, showcasing how integrated approaches can unlock new funding streams.

The event is especially intended to help authorities that are on the implementation stage of the adaptation planning cycle (Step 5 of the RAST) to identify innovative ways to finance climate adaptation projects. Participating authorities are encouraged to invite representatives of their financial teams dealing with the implementation of climate-related projects.
