As part of the Cross-Border Data Collection Project, commissioned by DG REGIO, we recently held the third meeting of our Advisory Board, which supports the project throughout its implementation with methodological and strategic guidance.
The discussion focused on several important aspects related to the finalisation of the methodology and presentation of results.
- Residence registration challenges – A key topic was the difficulty of identifying the actual place of residence in some countries. For example, in Poland many people keep their official address in Poland while effectively living abroad, creating important methodological limitations for identifying cross-border workers.
- Country fiches – We agreed that country-specific methodological information should be presented in separate fiches accompanying the final report. These fiches will highlight data availability, limitations, recommendations, and relevant regional patterns while keeping the main report focused on the overall methodology.
- Results and visualisations – The group discussed possible ways to present the results, including EU-wide maps on cross-border workers and approaches to visualise methodological limitations and data gaps across borders.
We are very grateful to all Advisory Board members for their continued engagement and valuable feedback, which is helping us strengthen the methodological robustness and policy relevance of the project.
Do you want to know more about the results of the project? Join us in the closing event which will take place in Brussells on the 10th of June. Participation is possible both online and onsite. Register to the event using this form.
