The EU has emphasized the need of improving public space protection. To this end, the Council has approved conclusions on the protection of public spaces. In these conclusions, the Council asks the Commission to investigate further options to assist projects and initiatives aimed at improving public space protection and community resilience. It also urges member nations to help develop and implement security-by-design principles in public areas.
