Spotlight on 2 OECD/DG REGIO Pilot Sites: The Cerdagne Hospital and the Northern Lorraine- Luxembourg Border

As part of the “Building More Resilient Cross-Border Regions” initiative launched in 2023, the OECD and DG REGIO joined forces to explore how multi-level governance can support resilient cross-border development. The project involved five pilot sites across European borders—three of which are located along France’s borders and are part of the MOT network.

In its most recent newsletter, the MOT shone a spotlight on two of these pilot sites:

The Northern Lorraine–Luxembourg Border
This pilot site explores the complex dynamics and cooperation efforts between northern Lorraine (France) and Luxembourg.

The Cerdagne Cross-Border Hospital
A unique example of binational healthcare cooperation, the Cerdagne Hospital serves communities on both sides of the border between France and Spain.

The work of the OECD and DG REGIO resulted in a final report and the publication of a "blueprint" for each site, which is now available on the OECD website: https://www.oecd.org/en/publications/building-more-resilient-cross-border-regions_d5fd3e59-en/support-materials.html
