In November 2025, Regensburg (Germany) hosted the 28th Clusters Meet Regions event, bringing together over 200 cluster experts, policymakers and industry leaders from 18 European countries. The meeting, organised by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform with local partners, highlighted how cross-border cooperation strengthens regional innovation ecosystems, linking SMEs, start-ups, research institutions, and public authorities across sectors.
Through matchmaking sessions, guided visits to innovation hubs, and thematic discussions, participants explored practical collaborations in areas such as green technologies, AI, mobility, healthcare, and IT security. The event demonstrated that connecting clusters across borders not only fosters shared learning and joint R&D but also supports the EU’s strategic goals of digital and green transformation. By showcasing successful regional initiatives and facilitating new partnerships, Regensburg reinforced the pivotal role of cross-border cluster networks in driving European competitiveness and resilience.
