Join CO-WATERS at the European Ocean Days – Register by 13 Feb!

The CO-WATERS project is building a Coalition of cities, regions, islands and ports and supporting them with services to reach the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters” goals.

From CO-WATERS we would like to invite you to join us at the European Ocean Days 2026, taking place from 2 to 6 March 2026 in Brussels. Organised by the European Commission, this flagship event brings together stakeholders working across ocean and water-related themes, including the Mission Ocean and Waters community.

On 4 March, CO-WATERS will be present at two events designed to strengthen collaboration among actors contributing to the Ocean and Waters Mission. These events offer valuable opportunities to connect with peers, exchange knowledge, and actively contribute to shaping the services that will accelerate Europe’s blue transition.

Together for Change: A Coalition to Empower Communities for Mission Ocean and Waters

  • Date & time: 4 March 2026 | 09:00–12:30 CET
  • Location: Charlemagne Building, Brussels

This high-level session, co-organised with the European Commission, will bring together representatives from cities, regions, islands and ports, alongside Mission Ocean and Waters communities and Charter signatories.

The interactive discussion will highlight concrete territorial actions and innovative solutions, address shared challenges and enablers for scaling up, strengthen stakeholder collaboration, and give voice to local actors and Mission communities across basins.

A key highlight of the session will be the launch of the Coalition of cities, regions, islands and ports for the Mission Ocean and Waters. This Coalition provides a platform for peer-to-peer learning, networking, and collaboration as a driving force for Mission implementation.

  • Date & time: 4 March 2026 | 15:00–17:00 CET
  • Location: ERRIN Meeting Room – Rue du Luxembourg 3, 8th floor, 1000 Brussels

CO-WATERS is building a Coalition of cities, regions, islands and ports and supporting them with a range of tailored services to reach the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters” goals.  Based on our digital consultation with cities, regions, islands and ports across Europe, this in-person workshop will provide a space to:

Discuss the main challenges communities face in working with coastal and freshwater systems

  • Identify the types of support that provide the most value, including peer-learning, capacity building training, stakeholder engagement, funding and finance advice, and knowledge exchange opportunities
  • Explore how the Coalition and the Mission Ocean and Waters Label, which acknowledges communities with ambitious transition plans, can support local transition pathways

Your input will directly inform the services and support developed by CO-WATERS and help ensure they respond to real territorial needs.

Register here

If registration exceeds capacity, participation will be managed to ensure a balanced representation of stakeholders.

We look forward to welcoming you to Brussels and working together towards clean, healthy, and resilient waters!
