Workshop "40 Years of Schengen in Times of Border Controls"

This workshop, organised by ITEM, the expertise centre for cross-border cooperation and mobility at Maastricht University, will present the results of a joint research by experts from different border regions involved in the TEIN-network on the cross-border impact of the reintroduction of border controls in the Schengen zone. Border regions to be analysed include the Rhine border between Germany, France and Switzerland, the France-Spain border, the Hungary-Austria border, the Luxembourg-Germany border and the borders in the Benelux area and Nordrhein-Westfalen. The discussion will include researchers, policy-makers, national and regional experts and the European Commission (DG HOME, DG REGIO).
