Cross-Border Energy Communities: Discover the Seven Selected Pilot Projects!

The European Cross-border Energy Communities (CBEC) project, coordinated by the Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière (MOT) and the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) on behalf of DG REGIO, supports the development of energy communities that bring together actors and resources located on both sides an EU border.

Following the closure of the call for projects in November 2025, MOT and AEBR selected seven pilot projects from a total of 17 applications. Over the next twelve months, these pilots will work on developing either cross-border (CBEC) or quasi-cross-border (Q-CBEC) energy communities.
