Connecting Communities Across the EU Mission Adaptation Landscape

This visual showcases how the EU Mission Adaptation Community of Practice serves as a unifying hub, linking diverse Mission-funded project communities and collaborative groups. Each thematic cluster—aligned with the Mission Projects Catalogue (e.g. Nature-Based Solutions, Health, Finance, Support to Regions, etc.)—brings together communities working on similar topics. These clusters highlight both the thematic richness and the interconnectedness of the broader Mission ecosystem.

While all Communities of Practice ultimately support regional and local authorities (RLAs), their focus and reach differ depending on the project, with some aimed at specific types of regions or particular user groups. This diversity is part of the Mission’s strength, and the visual offers a simplified overview of how these communities relate to one another within the broader landscape.

At the heart of this framework is the EU Mission Adaptation Community, which plays an integrative role: coordinating activities, reducing duplication, and fostering synergies across projects. The visual illustrates how these communities are woven into a coherent structure that supports engagement with RLAs, promotes collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic alignment across Europe’s adaptation efforts.
