The proposed regulations of Artificial Intelligence are now published by the European Commission, but how will the politicians reshape them ? The proposals of the Executive are based mainly on the assessments of the experts on technology, but they are now entering the phase of the parliamentary debates, where political considerations start playing an important role. 

This study looks at how Members of the European Parliament that will regulate AI are currently seeing the benefits and the drawbacks of rapid advancement in AI. The report shows the differences among MEPs based on their political affiliations and nationality and makes comparisons between how politicians talk about AI in social media and how they actually shape legislation. The tools allow us to forecast how the parliamentary debates are likely to look like and how the EP as a whole will shape regulation of A.I.
