HORIZON WIDERA CALL WITH €54M BUDGET!

Dear All, There is a Horizon WIDERA call (deadline 12th April) that will grant €2-5M to 20 projects with the goal of having alliances (deep collab) among EU and Widening countries' Universities that has a background in Digital Transformation. Existing EU Alliances are encouraged. I think the AI Alliance is the most indicated. 70% of the project budget must be on the widening country partners. I have strong ties with all 5 universities in Turkey that have an AI department and an AI undergrad program. I also work with WEglobal, which is a global project management company (among the top 3 for EU-funded projects that support widening countries) that has a central office in Ankara. Together I am now setting up a consortium with AI Universities in Netherlands to apply to this call. The AI Alliance can join us! OR If the AI Alliance is preparing a proposal we can also join as widening partner(s). Any pointers or comments are super welcome!

Dear Mustafa Ali, thanks for your message!

Let me clarify that the AI Alliance is an online community made of numerous different stakeholders, including public and private organisations, research centres and universities or experts and individuals participating at a personal capacity.

The invitation for participating in a consortium could indeed be interesting for one or more members of the AI Alliance. This is why it is good that you publish this post here. However, the AI Alliance itself is not an entity but an online forum that puts all these members together.

This forum was created by the European Commission in 2018 to facilitate the exchanges between the High-Level Expert Group on AI (AI HLEG) and the wider community of stakeholders for the preparation of ethics guidelines and policy recommendations on AI. Following the closure of the AI HLEG, the community is still kept active by the European Commission, it provides feedback to large consultations, such as the one on the Commission’s AI White Paper and meets on a yearly basis at a large event, the European AI Alliance Assembly.

More information about the AI Alliance can be found here.
