Galicia Norte Portugal EGTC awarded with a b-solution’s project for the elimination or simplification of the Car’s Circulation Guide that hinders cross border workers movements between Portugal and Spain.

The project submitted by the Galicia-Norte Portugal EGTC was among the awarded projects under the 3rd B-Solutions call by the Association of European Border Regions and the European Commission – DG REGIO.  The project will focus on the problematic risen by the car’s circulation guide required for cross border workers between Galicia and North Portugal, but also along the whole Spanish Portuguese border. This bureaucratic issue hinders the movement in private cars for cross border workers in their daily commuting.

This is the second time that an initiative presented by the Galicia Norte Portugal EGTC results awarded by the program B-Solutions. The expert’s precise work together with the collaboration of Xunta de Galicia and CCDR-N (regional governments), the Portuguese and the Spanish governments and the case study at the municipalities of Tomiño (Spain) and Vila Nova de Cerveira (Portugal), involving also many other institutions and our dedication, achieved a great result in our previous project. It should be highlighted that the report for “Simplifying cross-border mobility of minors to carry out cultural or educational exchanges” has been included as a relevant issue to solve in the recently announced Spain Portugal Common Strategy for Cross Border Development. We are eager to start the second project.
