In the context of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2020, a workshop on European Urban Initiative State of Play will be held online on the 14 October 2020 from 14:30 to 16:30am.
Thematic cluster: Cohesion and Cooperation
In the session, the state of play of the designing of the European Urban Initiative (EUI) of the cohesion policy proposal for 2021-2020 will be presented. The EUI aims to overcome the fragmented landscape of initiatives, programmes and instruments in support of cities under cohesion policy. It will strengthen sustainable urban development with integrated and participatory approaches in all urban areas and will support the Urban Agenda for the EU. As for its main activities, the EUI will support innovative actions as well as capacity and knowledge building, policy development and communication. The European Commission will present the state of play of the EUI's proposed content and activities. To connect the designing of the EUI with current activities in cities, examples of good practices under the Urban Innovative Actions, URBACT and Article 7 of ERDF will be shared. Digital tools will be used to collect feedback.
Registrations are open until 27 September 2020.
