The Partnership On Culture and Cultural Heritage is putting forward a survey under its Action 5 "Raise awareness for public libraries and their new tasks on a European and National Level".

The action group, which consists of the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe, the city of Espoo and various associated professional partners, published a questionnaire addressed at all national public library associations and national authorities focussed on public libraries in European countries.

Based on the answers, an analysis of documents published by European institutions like the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers or the European Commission will be carried out and, thereafter, recommendations for European action on public libraries will be developed.
