The European Urban Resilience Forum will be held June 25th in Bonn, Germany. What was previously known as the Open European Day, has become the European Urban Resilience Forum. The event offers a unique platform where city representatives and stakeholders from various local and regional institutions can come together to discuss strategies and actions for adapting to climate change and building urban resilience. It aims to support productive exchange between representatives from cities and regions of all sizes. It has been praised for its informative, open and interactive character and ‘PowerPoint-free’ format. Participants are encouraged to share experiences and points of view on diverse topics, tackling existing challenges in local urban adaptation, while exploring potential solutions and opportunities for future collaboration.
The 2019 edition will build around three topical streams:
· nature-based solutions for urban resilience;
· multi-level governance for adaptation planning;
· and financing resilience and adaptation
The Project Coordinator of the Climate Adaptation Partnership, Stefania Manca, has been invited as one of the speakers during the opening plenary session.
The event is organised by ICLEI and supported by the EEA and the European Commission, with direct involvement of several Horizon 2020 projects. The programme of the EURF can be found here.
