The MED Sustainable tourism Convention is the occasion for the Mediterranean tourism stakeholders to debate on key topics related to Sustainable Tourism in the region. The event promotes the encounter of organisations, regions and experts of the tourism sector with different territorial cooperation projects of the MED Sustainable Tourism Community, bringing together their experiences and contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive growth in the Mediterranean region.

Coordinated by Barcelona Provincial Council, in partnership with UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union (Italy), University of Thessaly (Greece), NECSTouR (Belgium), Plan Bleu (France), Adriatic Ionian Euroregion (Croatia) and the Regional Development Agency Green Karst (Slovenia), the MED Sustainable Tourism Community was created in November 2016 within the European Interreg MED Programme and comprises approximately 200 organizations active in 13 Euro Mediterranean countries. It brings together 30 territorial cooperation projects that join forces towards developing solutions to challenges related to tourism in the Mediterranean coastal areas.

The current edition of the Convention will be a hybrid event, gathering on site up to 150 representatives of the tourism sector that will attend by limited and direct invitation, and livestreamed for the public in an open platform.
