Transport Emission Inventories Made Practical: From Basics to Better Tiers

Join us for May’s sector-focused RE-CONNECT workshop to learn how to improve the accuracy of transport-related greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and tackle key data challenges. Expect a mix of expert insights and hands-on approaches to transport data analysis.

GHG inventory expert Dan Wakeling will share insights gained from developing GHG inventories and the underpinning IPCC guidance, including:

• Key methods and best practices of covering transport sector GHG inventories and options for progressing to higher-tier IPCC methodologies.
• Hands-on exercises focused on gap filling and cross-verification to deepen understanding of identifying, assessing, and integrating diverse transport data sources (such as fuel statistics, fleet composition, vehicle activity, and traffic data).
• Insights on institutional collaboration and data sharing to identify low-cost strategies for sustaining improvements beyond the workshop.
