Dear Members of the European AI Alliance,

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 3d Digitising European Industry (DEI) Stakeholder Forum, taking place in Madrid from the 13th to the 15th of November 2019.

The Stakeholder Forum, makes part of the Digitising European Industry (DEI) initiative and is yearly organised by the European Commission in cooperation with a Member State. This year’s edition, co-organised with the Spanish Government, will focus on:

“Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation Hubs for the European industry - beyond 2020”

While Artificial Intelligence applications are becoming a core element of many industrial environments, a network of Digital Innovation Hubs is quickly growing to support European industry in the digital transformation. Participants of the Stakeholder Forum will have the chance to learn more about funding instruments and opportunities after 2020. The event also presents an excellent networking opportunity for practitioners in the sector, including representatives from Digital Innovation Hubs, SMEs, large companies and national governments.

In her speech given during the presentation of the new College of Commissioners, Ursula von der Leyen, President-Elect of the European Commission, said:

"Digitalisation has a huge impact on the way we live, work and communicate. In some fields, Europe has to catch up — like for business to consumers — while in others we are frontrunners — such as in business to business. We have to make our single market fit for the digital age, we need to make the most of artificial intelligence and big data, we have to improve on cybersecurity and we have to work hard for our technological sovereignty."

These topics will inspire the keynotes speeches and panel discussions with high-level speakers from industry, governments and SMEs.
