THE CERTIFICATION AS A MECHANISM FOR CONTROL OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EUROPE

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most significant technological contributions that will permeate the life of western societies in the coming years, providing significant benefits, but also highlighting risks that need to be assessed and minimized. A reality as disruptive as AI requires that its technology and that the products and services supported by it provide enough guarantees of its proper functioning. The present work (in open library) analyzes and makes a proposal for the application of the mechanisms of Certification of Conformity to the maintenance of the afore mentioned guarantees.

Dear Carlos,

This is a very important topic, as there is no benefit of AI without confidence. Certification directly relates to confidence. (I also can not see the paper)

If this is needed, I can provide an actual case study from the assurance work we do for AI. We also have a framework for that.

At present we are working precisely on that within the agri-food and health sector.
In my opinion, there is a lot of developed AI technology and not everything is valid and is in the market. This situation creates a lot of confusion for potential users and causes at least a slowdown in the implementation of this type of technology. These types of certifications are necessary.
