Conference Digital and Open Government Amsterdam 2 - 3 June 2016

-

On 2 and 3 June a conference takes place on the common European ambitions for digital government and the strategic issues associated with this. The conference is connected with the European eGovernment Action Plan announced as part of the Digital Single Market Strategy.

Technological advances give public authorities a host of opportunities to improve their services. However, they also mean that public authorities themselves must to be able to change. Many European countries including the Netherlands, have already made significant progress. This move towards a more mature digital government will require a well-considered balance of different interests, including user-friendliness, privacy and security.

These topics include both a national and a European perspective. The move towards maturity will require these perspectives to be reconciled. The CIO convention and the conference provide a platform for discussing a number of common issues.
