Thank you for sharing, Claudia! We are very excited to see that regions are putting in place their own strategies for the Digital Decade – this is crucial to achieve the 2030 targets for the Union!

The Commission’s “Path to the Digital Decade” proposal aims to be the Union’s first comprehensive governance tool to ensure that Member States not only monitor their digital  progress, but advance together to reach common digital targets. We are working on a set of guidelines for national Digital Decade strategic roadmaps, in which Member States would outline concrete actions and, following a cycle of cooperation, adjust them as needed. The Digital Hesse strategy provides a great example of how similar roadmaps could look like on the regional level!

For the next weeks, we are planning a community event to present best practice examples like this one, and explore how to support regions and cities in achieving their Digital Decade ambitions. This will be a great opportunity to share your experience in drafting and implementing the Digital Hesse strategy with others working on regional and local Digital Decade strategies, like in the Tampere region in Finland.
