"We will no longer be satisfied with a simple cooperation across the border that stops at the first crisis. We refuse to give up! When will the states work together to serve the cross-border territories?" summarised the MOT president Christian Dupessey in front of 570 participants.
The main message of the second edition of the Borders Forum held in Paris on 21 and 22 June is unequivocal: cross-border territories need support, but also simplification and flexibility to be able to act.
The European Cross-Border Citizens' Alliance, created jointly between MOT, AEBR and CESCI, called to be strengthened in support of a new Political Declaration presented at the opening of the event, urging the Member States and Europe to put cross-border regions not on the margins but at the centre of the European challenge.
