On 24 November 2021 Brandenburg published the Convention and Statutes of the EGTC "Polish-German Geopark Muskau Arc". The establishment of the first German-Polish EGTC has thus become a fact.

The EGTC brings together local authorities from Brandenburg, Saxony and Poland. The aim of the grouping is to support cross-border cooperation in the Geopark area, including the preservation of the natural values of this unique area.

The headquarters of the Grouping are in Klein Kölzig in Brandenburg. It is also the first grouping with Brandenburgian participation and the first one based in the state.
