EURegionsWeek 2019: workshop "Future role of regions on Eastern External borders of the EU"

The Association of the European Border Regions is very glad to inform that will be present at the 2019 edition of the EURegionsWeek from the 7th to the 10th of October in Brussels, as organising partner of the workshop: Future role of regions on Eastern External borders of the EU.

 

The aim of the workshop is to offer a platform to discuss the future role of regions at the EU Eastern external borders during the next Programming Period of the EU. Especially in consideration of the shift in the management of the Neighbourhood Cross-Border Cooperation Programmes from the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR)under the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), the participants will discuss the new role that local and regional authorities at the Eastern external borders of the EU will play.

Furthermore, particular attention will be given to cross-border cooperation as a policy tool to enhance sustainable neighbouring relationships.

Local and regional authorities and epresentatives of the EU programmes dealing with the Eastern borders will enrich the discussion sharing ideas and perspectives on the EU external relations.
