The Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) has launched a call for applications under the initiative "Sail of Papenburg", the cross-border award.

On initiative of the Ems Dollart Region, each year since 2002 AEBR bestows a prize to a project which stands out for its achievements in enhancing cross-border cooperation. 

This year, the theme of the award is cross-border culture, building trust across boundaries.

Cross-border practitioners who are implementing projects to foster culture in a cross-border context are invited to send their applications. The deadline to apply is the 30th of August 2019.

An independent jury appointed by AEBR's Executive Committee will evaluate the proposals submitted. The award will be bestowed to the winning project in the context of AEBR's annual conference which will take place on 24 - 25 October 2019 in Dresden, Germany.
