Report: The development of COVID-19 in the border area of the Netherlands, North Rhine-Westphalia and Belgium

COVID-19 in a border region? What does that mean from an epidemiological and medical point of view? Should borders be closed? What is the impact of national measures? What can and should we learn from this pandemic? What do we need to do in the future facing maybe new and other pandemics like this one? That is where euPrevent, GGD Zuid Limburg, Maastricht University and Gesundheitsamt Düren looked into at the request of the Province of Limburg (also on behalf of Gelderland and Overijssel), the Staatskanzlei of the Land North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.

You want to know the answers to these questions? Read our full report (Dutch, English, German and French) which you can find on the website of euPrevent under products / publications: https://euprevent.eu/products/publicaties/. The english summary is attached here.

The data which we used as a baseline can be found on our Euregional Health Atlas www.euregionalhealthatlas.eu . As long as there are registrations about COVID-19 these data will be presented on this website and these data are refreshed every day. So come and have a look!
