The 29th Beyond Borders: Breakfast Debate will take a global look at cross-border cooperation (CBC) beyond the European context, exploring how borders are experienced, governed, and crossed in other parts of the world.
The session aims to broaden the understanding of CBC by examining how it works in different geopolitical, institutional, and cultural settings, from the US–Canada and Mexico–US corridors to Central Asia, and African and South American borderlands.
The debate will bring together academics, policy experts, and practitioners from North America, Central Asia, Africa, and South America, alongside representatives from EU institutions, to discuss the diverse meanings of cross-border cooperation around the world.
This is a special edition, and it comes with a special timeslot! To bring together speakers and participants from Seattle to Almaty, we have moved the debate to the afternoon. Please note this is different from our usual morning slot!
