Do you have a start-up idea that could make a difference? The European Commission is looking for bold, creative young entrepreneurs to pitch ideas that tackle real challenges, from the green transition and digital transformation to social inclusion and economic resilience.
Three finalists will be invited to pitch live at the SME & Clusters Assembly 2026 in Dublin, Ireland, taking place from 2-4 November.
The winner is announced on stage and receives an exclusive invitation to the European Innovation Council (EIC) Summit 2027, one of Europe's premier platforms for innovators, investors and policymakers.
Whether you are a student, part of a university incubator or already embedded in a cluster ecosystem, if you have an idea worth sharing, this is your stage.
Submissions are now open and will be accepted until 20 September 2026.
What You Need to Know
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: 18 to 25 years old (inclusive)
- Residency: Resident in any EU Member State or associate country to the SME pillar of the Single Market Programme
Submission Requirements
- Theme: Start-up ideas that promote innovation and reflect EU values
- Format:
- Submit a short video (max. 2 minutes) structured as follows:
- Provide a short business plan of no more than 3 pages outlining your concept and approach
- Language: Both the video and business plan must be submitted in English
- Deadline: 20 September 2026
- All applications should be submitted under a single applicant's name. If more than one person has worked on the idea, only one will be invited to represent the team at the SME & Clusters Assembly.
Selection Criteria
- Creativity: Is the idea new and inventive?
- Originality: Does it have the potential to capture public attention and address real-world issues?
- Communication: Is the idea presented clearly and persuasively?
