Description

Climate change, biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation are increasingly affecting ecosystems, economies and societies worldwide. Extreme events such as floods, droughts and wildfires are becoming more frequent and severe, while the degradation of nature reduces our capacity to adapt and thrive.

Cities and regions stand at the forefront of these challenges. They must respond to current impacts while preparing for future risks and ensuring healthy, equitable and resilient communities. National governments and European institutions play a crucial role by providing the policy, financial and governance frameworks needed to enable transformative action.

Nature-based Solutions have demonstrated their potential to address these interconnected crises by working with nature and people to strengthen resilience, enhance biodiversity and improve human well-being.

NetworkNature Week will explore how knowledge, policy, finance and practice can help move nature from the margins to the mainstream of governance and decision-making. By bringing together diverse actors and perspectives, the week aims to turn inspiration into action and contribute to resilient and thriving futures for people and nature.

Organised within the framework of the NbS International Congress, NetworkNature Week seeks to create a decisive moment in which nature moves from the margins to the mainstream of policy, governance, finance and practice.
