Results

The project shed light on the behaviour of consumers over 50s. The project included education activities, a catalogue of network member’s goods and services which was published both online and in print, and workshops and dissemination events.

As for the educational activities, more than 250 over 50s participated in courses about Smart tools, E-administration for tax and business and job search, including CV drafting and preparation for interviews.  Language courses were also organised in English, Hungarian and Slovak.

The project also organised workshops, conferences, and exchange of best practices on the four following themes: aging and employment, aging and innovation, aging and competitiveness, and wellness and healthy aging, with the aim to develop and foster products and services for aging people. In addition, meetings at administrative level were held to discuss strategies and the broader concept of silver economy.

Project partners also organized the Silver Economy Exhibition and Fair, where visitors discovered 125 exhibitors from different areas such as tourism, spas, alternative medicine, medical supplies, beauty, yoga, consumer goods, household appliances, electric cars, bicycles, financial consultancy and insurance, etc. The aim of the exhibition was to raise awareness of the changed customer behaviour of the 50+ age group and to highlight the new products and services that can be created for the silver economy.

Moreover, the Silver Economy project had an impact on the cross-border cooperation. Indeed, it strengthened the cooperation between public and private institutions/sectors, industrial and commercial firms, chambers of commerce, trade associations and organisations representing older people, and fostered interest in cross-border activities. The partnership believed that all the activities and events they have organized have helped to popularise products and services for aging people and have supported growth in various sectors linked to the Silver Economy.
