This November, the SME Assembly and European Cluster Conference come together for the first time as one event, hosted in Dublin under the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU. Here is the visual identity and tagline for the SME & Clusters Assembly 2026.

Connecting for a Competitive Europe
The tagline captures what the Assembly sets out to do: bring Europe's SMEs, clusters, policymakers and support organisations together to strengthen competitiveness, drive innovation and shape the future of European enterprise.
Meitheal: the idea behind the identity
The visual identity is inspired by Meitheal, an ancient Irish concept of coming together to share effort, knowledge and support in pursuit of a common goal. It is a tradition rooted in community, cooperation and the belief that collective action creates something stronger than any one person or organisation could achieve alone.
Applied to the Assembly, this idea speaks directly to Europe's enterprise ecosystem, where individual contributions from SMEs, clusters, researchers and policymakers combine into a more resilient and competitive whole.
The Dara knot: strength through interconnection
In the design, wool threads weave together to form the Dara knot, a Celtic symbol inspired by the roots of the oak tree. The Dara knot represents strength, resilience and deep interconnectedness — qualities at the heart of Europe's enterprise networks. As the threads come together, collaboration becomes visible, reflecting how cross-border partnerships and shared knowledge build a stronger European economy.
