In the coming months, the European Commission will put forward a Right to Stay Strategy, focusing on regions and territories experiencing an outflow of citizens. The objective is to better understand the key challenges communities face and the support needed for them to retain people, grow and thrive.
This initiative is particularly relevant for border regions and their inhabitants, given their specific geography, demography, and living conditions close to national borders.
A call for evidence is currently open, and the European Commission encourages you to contribute insights from the perspective of the border regions you work or live in. All feedback will be taken into account in the development of the strategy.
